Website in a day: what you can realistically build
One day website offers sound like a shortcut. They are not. They work because the scope is fixed before the day starts, and because the decisions that normally take three weeks are made in advance.
We run these at £500. Here is what actually fits.
What fits in a day
- One page, structured properly: hero, offer, proof, objections, call to action
- A design that matches your existing brand, or a clean direction if you have none
- Mobile and tablet layouts
- One primary action, usually a message, a call or a booking link
- Basic SEO setup: title, description, headings, share preview
- One round of revisions inside the day
What does not fit in a day
- Brand identity work. Logo and type decisions need distance and review.
- Copywriting from scratch. We can tighten what you send, not invent your positioning.
- Ecommerce with product variants, shipping rules and tax logic.
- Bookings tied to real availability, staff or rooms.
- Logins, accounts or anything gated.
- Six pages. That is a Launch Pack, not a day.
If someone offers all of the above in a day, they are using a template and filling in blanks. That is a valid product, but it is not a designed website.
Why a single page often converts better
Multi page sites split attention. A visitor who lands on a home page has to choose where to go next, and every choice is a chance to leave. A single page removes navigation as a decision and moves in one direction: what you do, who it is for, proof it works, what to do now.
For a new offer, a service you are testing, an event or a campaign, that focus is an advantage rather than a compromise.
How to prepare so the day works
Send these the day before
- Your one sentence description of what you do and who for
- Three to five reasons someone should choose you
- Any testimonials, results or client names you can use
- Logo files and brand colours if you have them
- Photography, or a note that we should source stock
- The exact action you want visitors to take
- Domain access, or tell us and we will handle it
Be available between 10am and 4pm
The day only compresses if feedback is instant. One unanswered question can cost two hours. Blocking the day in your own calendar is the difference between going live and rolling over.
What happens after
A day build is a starting point, not a ceiling. The most common path is a single page live this week to start collecting enquiries, then a fuller site later once you know which message people actually respond to. The page structure carries over, so nothing is wasted.
